With the intensity of the snowstorm, I did have to push back the first rehearsal of my show. Even though the rehearsal was over Zoom, many people lost power and also lost connection. Even I struggled over the course of the week for to power and connection loss. I had college callbacks all week and some had to be rescheduled while others had to be pushed through despite unfortunate circumstances. It was absolutely terrifying. Certain auditions were very to the point and easy; as I would say my monologues and then answer some questions. Other auditions threw me for a loop, asking me to recite my monologue as if speaking to a child or a blind man. Some auditions asked me to do cold reads or sing an additional song. While I was prepared for everything, it was absolutely terrifying to have to change an audition plan on the spot. This is what helped me realize just how serious colleges take this process. Now that I have completed all my auditions and callbacks, I am participating in the waiting game. It is absolutely terrifying. This is why I am so glad to have the distraction of my show to help me out all my energy into something positive. I do not want to spend my time dwelling about which schools may want me or which ones may not. But knowing that I am capable of writing and directing my own show gives me hope that in the future I can be self sufficient and guide my own career path.
