I know myself to be a person who is fueled by productivity. I get a strong sense of accomplishment from completing tasks and taking steps towards bigger goals. That is why this week has been so pivotal for me. I reached out to several professionals and college students who work in or study theatre. Each person I have reached out to has responded, and I have set up multiple meetings that will take place over the next couple of weeks. Additionally, I have been busying myself through working on my portfolios. I have my business portfolio with all of my articles and research assessments, but I also am working on theatre portfolios. These are portfolios for shows that I am working on. I will need several of these for college applications as well as for future productions that I am a part of.
My dad is a firm believer in the ‘practice makes perfect’ motto, and he has instilled that value in me. Due to that, I have been working on my portfolios and writing quite a bit. Though the work is a bit draining and takes a lot out of me, It is so rewarding in that I can have tangible evidence of my hard work and creativity. I have been adding to my writing projects daily, and it has helped me realize exactly who I am. I am a culmination of all my stories, and by telling them, in whatever form I can, I gain a stronger sense of self. I have never been more aware of my character and my values. I knew that I found worth in expression and individuality, but I was not aware of how much I treasure drive and efficiency. These are qualities that I also did not know I possess, but my creative process has proven to me that once I am ambitious, and this ambitious is going to help me reach my fullest potential.
